If you are a first time voter, no worries. Take a piece of picture ID, something with your Terrace address, signature and come to the Arena. The volunteers are very helpful and will answer all your questions.

Acceptable Pieces of IdentificationThe following are deemed to be acceptable identification for the purposes of registering to vote at the Polls (one must contain your signature):
- British Columbia Driver's Licence;
-British Columbia Identification Card issued by the Motor Vehicle Branch;
-Owner's Certificate of Insurance and Vehicle Licence issued by the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia;
British Columbia CareCard or British Columbia Gold CareCard;
Ministry of Social Development and Economic Security Request for Continued Assistance Form;
Social Insurance Card issued by Human Resources Development Canada;
Citizenship Card issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada;
real property tax notice issued under section 237 of the Community Charter;
credit card or debit card issued by a savings institution as defined in section 29 of the Interpretation Act; or
a utility bill issued for the supply of electricity, natural gas, water, telephone services or coaxial cable services.
Who Can Vote?You may vote in a BC local election as a resident elector if you:
are a Canadian citizen;
-are 18 years of age or more on general voting day;
-have lived in BC for at least six months before you register to vote; and
-have lived in the municipality, regional district or school district where you wish to vote for 30 days or more before you register to vote.
Is there anyone who cannot vote in a local election?You may not vote in a BC local government election (as either a resident elector or a non-resident property elector) if you:
-have been convicted of an indictable offence and are in custody;
-or have been found guilty of an election offence.
