Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce executive director David D. Hull has been suspended from his job after being charged with assault.
Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald confirmed police arrested Hull on May 28 at around 4:30 a.m. following a complaint from a 35-year-old woman.
"Our members investigated and concluded there was evidence of an assault. They then located Mr. Hull and arrested him without incident," he said.
MacDonald would not say how the woman was connected to Hull.
The chamber issued a notice of Hull's departure on Sunday with no explanation except that he was suspended with pay until further notice.
Hull's presence on the Chamber's website has been erased.
Chamber president Patrick Giesbrecht had little to say on Monday.
Giesbrecht would not confirm Hull's suspension was related to the assault charge.
"The reason that David D. Hull was suspended may or may not have anything to do with the [assault] charge," Giesbrecht said.
