A Family Business Serving; Terrace, Kitimat, Smithers, Houston and the Hazeltons since 1966

The Heighington family has been providing the highest quality Fabricare, Garment and Textile services for more than a century!

The history begins with John and Bryon Heighington's great-grandfather, Herbert Edward, who did laundry on British navy ships in 1857. In 1915 he opened Camrose Steam Laundry in Alberta, after which his son Herbert opened a drycleaning business.

Eventually, Herberts son Norman took over the business and started up in Prince George the City's first commercial and industrial drycleaner.

Norm moved his business to Terrace at a later date.

Currently, John and Bryon operate three locations in Terrace. Superior Linen Supply on Legion Avenue, Spotless Drycleaners on Lakelse Avenue and Spotless Cleaners, Laundromat & Onsight Embroidery on Emerson Street across from the post office.

Their brother Ken and his 2 sons Shawn and Richard own three Spotless Drycleaning locations, one suede and leather cleaning plant, three laundromats and B.C.'s newest industrial laundry, in Prince George.

Like many inventions, dry cleaning came about by accident. In 1855, Jean Baptiste Jolly, a French dye-works owner, noticed that his table cloth became cleaner after his maid accidentally overturned a kerosene lamp on it. Operating through his dye-works company, Jolly offered a new service and called it "dry cleaning."
